Equinox Egypt Recognized by Cisco as the IP NGN Partner of the Year for Africa and Levant

Cairo, Egypt – October 2, 2011Equinox Egypt announced that it has achieved the Cisco IP NGN Partner of the Year award in 2011 for Africa and Levant at Cisco’s One Africa Partner Summit held recently in Cape Town, South Africa. Nile Hotel.

This prestigious award was given to Equinox in recognition of it being the leading systems integrator company in Egypt to invest in the Service Provider IOS-XR  technology and products over the past four years. Furthermore, over the past 18 months, Equinox has performed several NGN projects and implementations with a number of wireless service providers in Egypt. Those projects included implementing several  CRS-1 platforms and migrating a number of legacy implementations to the new CRS-1 platforms in record times, upgrading NGN infrastructures to 10G networks, and implementing complex Quality of Service (QoS) and Traffic Engineering (TE) techniques.

“This is a monumental achievement for Equinox considering that we have also received the Cisco Gold Partner status and the Cisco Mobile Internet Technology ATP designation all in the past 3-month time frame,” said Patrick Lee Haynes, Chief Delivery & PMO Officer at Equinox International.  “The combination of our strong IP/MPLS experience and successful track record coupled with the high level of customer satisfaction and confidence from our Telecom/SP customers have all resulted in this renowned recognition by Cisco and we are confident that we will be able to maintain it while growing our Cisco partnership even more moving into the future.” added Mr. Haynes.

Equinox’s technical team works closely with the company’s clients to understand their needs in the NGN technology, and provides them with solutions and designs that meet their business requirements. In addition, Equinox’s implementation and support team works with clients to implement these designs while providing them with seamless migration services to ensure the continuity of their critical business services and applications.

The Cisco One Africa Partner Summit held in June 2011 was attended by 28 different Cisco partners from Africa and was hosted by Pim Versteeg, Cisco’s Vice President of Emerging Markets Central and Milo Schacher, Cisco’s Vice President of the Emerging Markets Partner Organization.
